Seeking a Certified Coding Specialist III, this fully remote position requires expertise in coding and verifying inpatient encounters using ICD-10 CM, PCS, CPT, HCPCS, HCC, and HEDIS CAT II codes, while also providing guidance to coding staff to ensure compliance with established guidelines and accuracy in billing. Key responsibilities Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters, ensuring compliance with coding conventions and hospital policies Maintain a minimum accuracy rate of 95% on quality reviews while meeting productivity standards Coach and train coding staff on coding practices, addressing inquiries, and ensuring consistency and accuracy in coding processes Required qualifications High school diploma and completion of an approved coding program or graduation from a Health Information Management program Three years of coding experience in an acute care hospital environment Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent from recognized organizations Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and familiarity with billing and reimbursement principles Ability to achieve a minimum score of 85% on a pre-employment coding test
